

Ramiro Mendez entered into the presence of the Lord on November 1, 2011, at the age of 88, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Altar, Sonora, Mexico on March 25, 1923 to Ignacio and Guadalupe Mendez. At 17, he migrated to the United States where he settled in Imperial County where he met his beloved wife, Juanita Mendez of 47 years. They owned and operated an agriculture business and eventually settled in the San Jacinto valley where they raised their 6 children. He worked as a dairyman until he retired although he never stopped working. He loved playing pool and watching the Dodgers. He enjoyed gardening and planting flowers for Juanita. He also enjoyed his coffee and morning newspaper. He was a hardworking and loving father and grandfather, always cheerful and generous in love and time. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren and always greeted them with a smile. He often shared his vivid memories as a young rancher where he excelled in horseback riding and lassoing cattle and in one instance a big stag.He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Juanita Mendez of 47 years, and daughter Guadalupe “Lupita” Quintanilla. He is survived by 2 brothers, Albeto Mendez and Ramon Mendez both of Mexico, his children, daughters Pam Mendez, Carmen Adame (Abraham), Elsa Chavez (Dennis), Rachel Foster (Ray) and son Ramiro Luis Mendez, Jr. (Rosa), his grandchildren- Monica, Benito, Jacob, Lisa, James, Erica, Jonathan, DJ, Isaiah, Rachel, Nicholas, Kyra, Leah, Ethan, Tommy, Zachary and Tanner, 12 great-grandchildren.. 1st viewing will be held at McWane Funeral Home, Hemet, CA on Wednesday, November 9th from 6-8 pm; 2nd viewing on Thursday, November 10th from 9-10 am, followed by services at 10:30 am. Graveside Services will follow at San Jacinto Valley Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Mc Wane Family Funeral Home, 350 N. San Jacinto Ave., Hemet, CA.
