

Regina A. Marks, 52 passed away on June 13, 2017 peacefully at home in Menifee, CA. Regina was born on February 19, 1965 to Juanita and Earl Marks in Bronx, NY. Regina was the youngest of 3 children.
Regina began her journey into nursing by attending Beth Israel School of Nursing where she obtained her AAS. Upon graduation she worked in New York, and Atlanta Georgia before moving to San Diego,California in 1990. While in San Diego she worked at Planned Parenthood and a local dialysis clinic. Her journey continued north to Temecula,California in 1991. While in Riverside County she held different jobs from dialysis clinic with Gambro to eye surgery clinics in San Bernardino. After a brief stint at the Riverside Regional Medical Center, Regina decided to try her hand at teaching by joining the Riverside Adult School. It was here where she began her true calling to teach others the profession of Nursing. Regina continued along this path with various stops along the way. Regina's final teaching destination would become Mt San Jacinto Community College a place she called home. While along this journey she continued to better herself and others by continuing her education, where she graduated from California State University Dominguez Hills where she received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2004 and received her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree. in 2009. She was pursuing her Doctorate at Chamberlain College of Nursing.
Regina was a member of the Sigma Theta Tau Inc Society, The Nursing Honor Society, the Professional Learning Community for Riverside Adult School, Riverside City Teacher Association, American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE). She received many awards of excellence in her nursing career. She was a Professor at Mt. San Jacinto College (MSJC) for the Nursing and Allied Health Department and Geriatric Department. In Fall of August 2017 she would have served as Assistant Director of the RN Program, and was the Director Certified Nursing Assistant Program. The students deemed her a no-nonsense instructor who was filled with compassion and desire to make people reach the highest level of excellence and professionalism.
Regina leaves behind a legacy to be cherished by longtime friend and companion, Michael Kirkendall, children Mark, Matthew,and Reina Kirkendall, brother Dexter Marks and his family Caren, Sylvia and Julia and brother Phillip Marks and his family Laverne, Melissa, Leslie, and Gary. Students, faculty, patients and a host of family and friends.
Regina will be loved and missed by all those she has had the pleasure of meeting and teaching along her journey.
