

Robert Crane Duncan passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 26, 2016 in Wildomar, California, at the age of 89; Robert was born on January 17, 1927 in Springfield, Missouri and lived continuously in Southern California since 1947, three years in Hollywood, 37 years in Van Nuys and 20 years in Wildomar, California.
Mr. Duncan served in WWII from October 1945 to October 1946 on Okinawa transporting Japanese PWS back to Japan and was Staff artist on the Army Headquarters' Newspaper.
Mr. Duncan has been an Architect since 1957 having received his internship in Architect's offices in Kansas City, Missouri, Chicago, Illinois and Los Angeles, California and attended the School of Architecture of Southern California. Mr. Duncan's notable works are churches, education buildings, Sr. and College Residence Halls, also Recreation buildings. He served on the Management Board of a large senior citizens residence in Van Nuys for four years.
Mr. Duncan and his wife Phyllis made their home in Wildomar, California since 1987, but formally lived in Van Nuys, California from 1950-1987 where they raised their children and were active in the First Baptist Church of Van Nuys from 1960-1980 where he served as Business Administrator for over six years. He was also active in Rotary and the Mid Valley YMCA. Mr. and Mrs. Duncan of been members of Canyon Lake Community Church since 1988 and serve actively in the Senior Programs. He also served four plus years as their Business Administrator.
Mr. Duncan was preceded in death by his parents Rolla and Elsie Duncan his siblings, Thomas of Baltimore, MD, James of Payson, AZ, Mary Hampton of Boise, ID and Nancy Waligorski of Sun City, CA. He is survived by his wife of 67yrs, Phyllis Joan Leue, sons, Robert Charles of Hemet, CA, Kenneth of Thousand Oaks, CA and his daughter Diane of Wildomar, CA; five grandchildren Jessica Johnson of Costa Mesa, Lucy Lombardi of Ojai, Daisy Boatwright of Charleston, SC, Charlene Duncan of San Diego and Peter Duncan of Thousand Oaks; and seven great Grandchildren.
