Robert John Laszlo, a longtime Ojai resident, passed away on June 17, 2023, at the age of 65 of complications from a heart condition. He was born on January 25, 1958, to Jozsef and Eva Laszlo in Stockholm, Sweden. Along with his family, he immigrated to the United States in 1959. Robert grew up in Port Hueneme, California, graduating from Hueneme High School in 1976. “Robi” loved the ocean, sailing, photography, and making mischief with his close-knit group of friends from school and the neighborhood. He met his future wife Kristy Brigham in college and they were married in 1985. Together they welcomed sons Evan and Parker, and daughter Briana. Family was everything to Robi, and he was a devoted and generous father. Robert owned and operated an HVAC business; and was a contractor, builder, and entrepreneur who always had many irons in the fire. He recently retired and divided his time caring for his family, trips to Baja, and juggling multiple projects on his property in Hemet, CA. Throughout life Robi always kept his dry sense of humor and was equipped to deliver a quirky joke on cue. He was predeceased by his father Joe Laszlo, step-father Bob Taylor, and Uncle George Racz. He is survived by his mother Eva Taylor, his children Evan and Parker Laszlo, and Briana Mitchell and her husband Daniel; fiancé Tonie; cousin Erica Racz; siblings Gabriella Wilson and her husband Jim; Aggie Arvizu; and James Laszlo and his wife Robyn; nephews/nieces Max and Laura Arvizu, and Alex, Rachel, and Eric Wilson, who all hold Uncle Robi near to their hearts. He will be missed and remembered by all. A private family service will be held.
