Robert loved sports and his favorite was the Oakland Raiders. Family and friends would come over and watch games on a regular basis. He also loved the Angels and the horses. Robert could be seen at the local Perris facility and at Santa Ana making bets. He was known to say.. I shoulda bet on that horse, woulda bet on the horse, coulda bet on that horse when his horse did not win. Robert really enjoyed playing pool and could shoot both left and right handed very well. He worked in Long Beach checking in cargo for over 56 years. He liked the marine industry and loved to hang around the docks. Robert was easy going but could be stern when needed. His family describes him as loyal, supportive, persevering, loving and caring. Many neighborhood children and friends would visit him during his illness and watch sports. He befriended them and they referred to him as grandpa. He travelled to Yellowstone and Laughlin with his late wife, Fern , who he was married to for 36 years.
DAD
Delightful and loving,
Loved and admired,
Dad you're my hero,
My life you've inspired
And when all my blessings are counted each day,
I thank God in heaven
For Dad when I pray
Dad thanks for your presence
Throughout thick and thin
You were more than a parent,
You were my wonderful friend
