Robert Emory Smith

Robert Emory Smith, 90 of Hemet, CA passed away on Wednesday, March 29, 2017, in Loma Linda, CA. He was born on Sunday, November 28, 1926 in Three Sands OK, to the late Emory and La Vina Smith. Robert entered into the US Navy November 13, 1944 and was a Seaman First Class and Aviation Ordnance man Striker. He pursued sheet metal work after the military. Robert worked in all aspects of metal work for 40 years from welding, fabricator, assembler and business-owner. His passion growing up and all his life was fishing. When he had time off he fished in freshwater and deep sea with his family on a Cabin Cruiser he made himself. He also did too many deep fishing excursions to count. Robert enjoyed working with his hands and was pretty good at wood carving. He was a member of the Ramona County Carvers in Hemet CA. He also could fix anything and felt why purchase something when it could be fixed better than before or just build it himself.The family describes him as strong, caring, loving, a great sense of humor and a role model. He will be missed by those who knew and loved him. Surviving is his daughter Dawn Bleau; son Robin Smith and his wife Alissa; brother Gene Smith and his wife Mary; and his two Grandson's Phillip and Jacob Snow. Services will be at Riverside National Cemetery 22495 Van Buren Boulevard Riverside on Thursday, April 6, 2017 12:45pm.
