

Sadamu "Sak" Sakai, 88, of Menifee, California, passed away peacefully at home on May 17, 2014. Sak was born in Ewa, Hawaii, on September 23, 1925; the first born of Sataro and Mitsu Sakai's nine children.
Sak was an avid golfer whose love for the sport began when he was in high school and worked part-time as a caddy at the Oahu Country Club. He was drafted in the Army during the U.S. Occupation in Japan. Later he became a Naval civilian, retiring as the Maintenance Superintendent of Public Works Center at Yokosuka Naval Base, Japan. Sak spent many years golfing with friends at the Yokohama Country Club, Negishi & Atsugi Golf Courses, California Country Club and Menifee Lakes Country Club. He also enjoyed bowling, was a member of the Grand Lodge of Free & Accepted Masons Far East Lodge 1, Toastmasters, usher at the Yokohama Chapel Center, and youth basketball coach.
Sak is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Grace Amemiya Sakai; sons, Wayne Sakai (Theresa) and Gerry Sakai; daughter, Sandy Agajan (Max). He loved adventures and spending time with his grandchildren: Kevin, Dylan, Ashley, Sarah, and Ryan. He is also survived by his siblings: Hideyo, Wilfred, David, Daniel, and Victoria Sakai. Sak is predeceased by Elsie Okata, Kunio Sakai, and Gladys Kaya.
