The days seem duller since our “Shine” left this earthly world. Shine earned her wings in the early morning hours of Tuesday, January 30th, 2024. She was 75 years young. She is no longer in pain.
Shine was born at home in Alpine, Kentucky on December 8, 1948. She left Kentucky for the warm beautiful climate and family in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida where she worked in the hospitality industry. She met and married her first husband, Frank DiNoto there and they moved to his hometown in New York, where she continued to work in the hospitality industry. They eventually divorced and she moved to San Gabriel, California to be close to family and began her career in the printing industry. She met and married her second husband, Raymond Charles Chamberlain. They lived in Baldwin Park before retiring and moving to Four Seasons in Hemet, California to be closer to her sister.
Shine’s travels have taken her through many of the United States and several foreign countries. The highlights were Mexico, Spain and Hawaii. She loved Hawaii and traveled there many times with her sister and cousin. Shine loved the ocean and the beaches.
Making jewelry and painting were some of her hobbies, besides playing games at the clubhouse and on her iPad. She was known as a cat lady. Over the years she had many cats: Chiquita, Prescott, Bandit, Missy and Precious. They were her children.
After the death of her second husband, she met the love of her life, Daniel Weckerly. They were very active in the Four Seasons community with playing Hand and Foot and Pegs and Jokers. They loved to travel and had made recent trips to Mexico and Kentucky.
Shine was preceded in death by her husband Raymond Chamberlain, her mother Leona York Losey, her brothers Larry King and Gene Losey. She leaves behind her partner Dan Weckerly, best friend and sister Jeanette “Jenny” Losey Darby and her husband Willie “Bill”; her sister Robin Messer and her son Brandon Ping; brothers Donald Losey and Brian Losey, as well as many wonderful cousins: Linda Crawford, Mark Ross, Jeff Ross, and Terry Ross.
