

Shirley Elmere Benard-Guyton was born on April 11, 1934 in Adams, Wisconsin to the late Thomas Applebee and the late Beatrice Applebee. She was the loving wife of the late Clarence Benard Sr. for 32 years. To their union seven children were born. Shirley was a Caregiver for over 10 years; she loved to help others.
She was a faithful member of the United Church of the Living God; where she was the secretary until her health began to fail her. Shirley's hobbies included knitting, sewing, solving word puzzles, watching Jimmy Swaggart teach the Word of God. She was proud of being a beloved mother.
In 1991 Shirley remarried Mr. Marshall Guyton; he passed away after a short 5 years of marriage. Shirley spent time with family members and close friends as often as possible. They brought her so much joy. She will forever be remembered for encouraging her family to trust in God and know He has a plan. Often she would say "If its not one thing it's two or three".
On January 27, 2014, Shirley was called home to be with the Lord. She will forever be loved and cherished. Shirley was preceded in death by her son, Lincoln Benard; brother, Carl Malone; 1 grandchild and 2 great grand children.
Surviving are her sons, Clarence Benard Jr., David Benard and Stacey Benard; daughters, Lena Benard, Rachel Benard and Gloria Benard; ten grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren as well as a host of other family members and friends.
