We had so many memories I don’t even know quite where to start. From a little girl in elementary, you came into my life and you never left me. You attended everything I ever had from drill team performances to parades to every graduation and you always shouted with excitement. I thank you for the man you were, because even if you and my mom were not good, we always were. You never let “step” come in between us. I was always your daughter.

There are so many memories with you that I hold dear even watching that five-hour-long Michael Jackson movie The American Dream! We would sit there and sing and dance to the songs. Now that you’re gone, the Jackson 5’s I’ll Be There hits me way harder. Thinking about you brings tears to my eyes, and I get overwhelmed, because I was truly blessed to have you.

That funny man who always made sure I was okay even sitting with me every single day for an hour, for three months faithfully, in Harbor City, to make sure my oldest, Ta’Miyah’s, heart was still beating. You let me drive to my 8th grade graduation because you gave me secret driving lessons that my mom found out about on graduation day haha! You always listened with your ears and your heart.

I was 15 and wanted nothing else for Christmas but some bamboo earrings with my name in them. My mama told me, “Girl, I’m not.” But on Christmas Eve, I opened up your gift and it was my earrings. I still have them to this day. You made my whole Christmas.

You taught me so much cooking, cleaning, and how to be an independent woman because even though it’s fine to have a partner, you always told me these words: “I can’t put ate nothing, haha.” I can hear you now yelling, “And listen, they still ain’t!” You graced me with your life and the legacy you left within me, and I have to thank God for every moment, every conversation, every hug, every “I love you.” I cherish it all.

Hey papa it’s Ta’Miyah here so sad to see u go but I know you’re resting and in a better places now. Thank you for always being there for my mom when she needed you the most.Thank you for all the laughs that we had when you had to prove a point to my Nana. Just can’t believe it was your time.Thank you for just being there and present. I love you and I know you will be watching from the sky. 
Matthew 11:28-29, where Jesus says, "Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls".

Missing you your presence your laughter you telling me watch and see Juanita when I tell you no you wrong about something and you gone make sure it comes to pass bc you said it so that made the difference and knowing that you was in your way back to La and didn't make it makes you being gone hard to accept but I know I have too but I miss you and love you and you rest now bc your journey on this physical earth is over and I'm so glad I knew your habits to know something wasn't right and followed my first mind and seak help to follow up with why you wasn't answering your phone not knowing you had already passed you rest in peace your journey on this earth in the physical realm is over but I know you still here in spirit and I'll see you again love you Juanita .
