Trudy Dremaine Thigpen-Ramsey

Trudy Dremaine Thigpen-Ramsey was born October 1, 1954, in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Mr. Julius Thigpen and Mrs. Lona Smith. Trudy also, became the baby daughter of the late Deacon Joseph Smith (Slidell, LA).

Trudy received Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized. Trudy was a member of "Vine - Life Christian Fellowship Church, Riverside, CA," (since 1992), where she worshipped, served, and fellowshipped under the teaching/leadership of Pastor, Dr. Robert L. Wilks, Jr.

One of Trudy's most calming, peaceful, and favorite scriptures: Psalm 23:1-6 (KJV)-- "The LORD is my Shepherd; I shall not want. HE maketh me to lie down in green pastures: HE leadeth me beside still waters. HE restoreth my soul: HE leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for HIS name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for THOU art with me; thy rod and THY staff they comfort me. THOU preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: THOU anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely GOODNESS and MERCY shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever." Trudy always paraphrased another favorite scripture (John 14: 1) - "I am not going to let my Heart be troubled, I believe in JESUS..."

Trudy graduated from Salmen High School; Slidell, Louisiana (1972); Trudy earned her Bachelor's Degree (Business Education - Minor -English/Reading) from Southern University, Baton Rouge, Louisiana (1976). Immediately after graduating from College, Trudy moved to Gardena, California (1976) lived with her brother and family. She had begun earning credits towards her Master Degree in Education from (University of Phoenix) Online.

Trudy met, became friends, shared, loved, and married Gene Ramsey (December 31, 1977). Trudy and Gene became the proud, joyful, and bless parents of their son Gene Ramsey, Jr.; blessed again in 2006 with her baby girl grand-daughter, Ariana Janelle Ramsey.

Trudy Thigpen's professional career as an Educator began in 1976, at the early age of 21 (Fremont High School), Los Angeles, CA as an English Teacher (10 years). Trudy taught at San Pedro High School and Adult night school (English Second Language) for five years as well.

Trudy, Gene, and Gene, Jr move to Perris, CA and Trudy joined the staff of Perris Union High School, Perris, CA (1991) to present date (36 Years) -Teaching (English/Reading). She has been inspirational, encouraging, a classroom disciplinary, professionally focused and very passionate about students receiving the full quality and value of education. Trudy D. Thigpen-Ramsey leaves a legacy of LOVE, celebrations, memories, and joy to her beloved husband of (35 years) Gene Ramsey; her son Gene Ramsey, Jr. (Perris, CA); Step-daughter, Natasha Ramsey, (Atlanta, Georgia); Step-daughter, Lisa Ramsey, (Kingston, Jamaica).

Mother, Mrs. Lona Smith (Slidell, LA); Brother/Sister -in-law, Johnny/Theresa Thigpen (Carson, CA); Sister, Christine Thigpen (Lancaster, CA); Sister/Brother-in-law, Rochelle/Curtis Doucette (Slidell, LA); Brother-in-law/Wife, Milton/Sarita Ramsey (Pomona, CA); Jimmy Ramsey (Kingston, Jamaica); Sister-in-law/Husband Colleen (Brooklyn, New York); Sister-in-law/Brother-in-law, Shirley and Earl Ramsey(deceased) (Corona, CA).

Trudy leaves a wonderful and beautiful host of: great and loving Cousins, Nephews: outstanding, loving Friends, magnificent and great co-Educators, and sensational and smart Students.
