Vickie Raye Holmes

Vickie Raye Holmes, 58, of San Jacinto, California, passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2015, at Hemet Valley Medical Center in Hemet, California. She was born Saturday, August 25, 1956, to Norman Ray and Laura Owens Canfield. She was married to the love of her life, David Holmes, for 33 years. Vickie loved music. She played the piano, flute, and saxophone in addition to other instruments and played in the Sierra Vista High School Band. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She had a master's degree in education and was a teacher in the San Jacinto Valley for 16 years. Vickie's passion for teaching was evident in her interaction with students. Her dedication and concern was appreciated at school, where she was well loved. Her family enjoyed her funny sense of humor and her loving devotion as a wife, mother, and grandmother. Surviving is her husband, David Holmes; sons, Kevin Holmes (Bethany), Lance Holmes (Coral), and Kyle Holmes; daughters, Jessica Holmes, Mindy Friedman (Brian), and Krista Hanby (Tyrel); brothers, John Canfield (Diane), Richard Canfield, Michael Canfield, and David Canfield; sister, Maridee Hardy; and parents.
