

Walter Barsamian passed away on Saturday June 27th, 2020. He passed away in peace at the age of 94. Walter was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Joan. He was the loving father of Vanessa Eckels, Sandra Jackson, Stephen Barsamian, Blake Barsamian, and Raven Barsamian. Walter was the proud grandfather of Michael Lovett, Nicole Lovett, Matthew Jackson, Briana Eckels Christina Eckels, Kyler Barsamian, Victoria Barsamian, and Troy Barsamian. He was the wonderful Great-grandfather of Bonnie , Aria, and Oliver. Walter was the brother of Virginia Hazian. He was further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Walter was born in Providence, RI in 1926 and was raised there through High School. When he was seventeen, he volunteered to join the US Marines during WWII. After finishing his tour of duty, he decided to finish college and was accepted to the prestigious Ivy League school Brown University where he enjoyed being a part of the Fraternity Phi Kappa Psi. After graduating, he met his lovely wife Joan and they were married in 1957. Walter and Joan began their family and eventually had five children. During that time, he enrolled in law school at South Western School of Law in Los Angeles, CA. Walter practiced law in Los Angeles, and then moved his family to Irvine, CA in 1973 where he continued to practice law in Newport Beach, CA. His law practice spanned over 40 years of service to the community.
Walter will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a distinguished lawyer, a proud patriot and US Marine veteran. He was a pillar of his law community in Newport Beach, CA and a devout family man. Walter enjoyed life to the fullest and he was a big Ram's fan. Walter loved to read his vast collection of books on history and political science which were his two favorite subjects. We will all miss him greatly but know that his faith gave him a new life. We will see him on the other side. We love you Dad.....
The funeral was held for family and friends at the El Toro Memorial Park at 2 o'clock PM. on August 29th, 2020. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to St. Mary's Armenian Apostolic Church, 148 22nd Street, Costa Mesa Ca. 92627
