William is survived by his lovely wife of 26 years, Jacqueline Maxwell, his son, Bill Maxwell of Lawrence, KS, three daughters, Jeanne Ward of Modesto, CA, Jeanette McGouirk of Dodge City, KS and Patti Basham of Dodge City, KS, his brother, Bob Maxwell of Mesa, AZ, five grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren.
William was a Midwest farmer for most of his life. He loved the outdoors and the land. When he retired and moved to California he enjoyed spending his leisure time golfing with his friends in the "Bandits" golfing club. Becoming a member was a very proud moment for him. William also loved spending time with his family traveling and gathering with friends at neighborhood functions.
William was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. The family will be holding a celebration of William's life at a later date.
