It is with deep and heavy sadness that we announce the passing of our father William Hiram Miller, (Bill), who passed on October 31, 2014, at the age of 71. He resided in Hemet, CA at Meadowbrook Healthcare Center. Bill was born in Bakersfield, California on November 25, 1942. He entered the Marine Corps on December 8, 1959 and served in Twenty nine Palms, California as a LCpl and was Honorably discharged on July 24, 1964. He returned to the San Jacinto valley, living in Hemet, CA until 1982 and ultimately landed in the Joshua Tree area and lived there until 2013. Bill enjoyed creating and building throughout his life as he remodeled several family homes, and built a home and a "shop" from the group up. He was a car enthusiast and loved to restore classic automobiles and participate in the Route 62 Cruisers Car Club and the Morongo Basin Old Car Club with his eldest son. Bill was also an avid "farmer" and fisherman, he loved to fish and often raised chickens, cows, goats, pigs, and cultivated beautiful gardens. Bill was a gun enthusiast as well and in the 1970's was a member of the Hemet Fast Draw Club and participated in authentic western shows, shootouts and parades. Bill enjoyed the company of his family and friends and loved to joke and make people laugh and was always there to lend a hand. He renewed his faith in God and expanded his friends in approximately 1992 when he became a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-Day Saints. He is survived by his children, Randy (Brandi), Scott (Rebekah), Cindy (Clay) Glenn, Katherine and Nakoma (Micky), 11 grandchildren; Trey, Tracie (Sean), Bryanna, Bryttani, Kelvin, Levi (Rachel), Sky, Ian, Morgan, Trinity and Tristin, his first great-grandchild is due in January, his sister Anita (Ralph), Danny (Rosie), Art, George (Nancy), Jimmy, Fay (Sam) Leslie, Lena (Russel), Debbie, Randy and Tommy, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in his journey to heaven by his father Richard, mother Edith, stepmother Willa, Uncles George, Jake and David, Brothers, Eddie, Paul, and Jerry and his nephew Tim (and his dogs Cadillac and Tater who are waiting by the fishing hole). In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make donations to help pay for Dad's funeral services.
