

Andrew Joseph Avitable, age 82, of Kingman, Arizona, passed away on Thursday, June 12, 2025. He was born in Orange, New Jersey, on April 29, 1943, to his parents, Louis Anthony Avitable and Angela Marie De Gaetano. After graduating from high school, Andrew enlisted in the US Air Force on April 3, 1961.
On June 19, 1974, Andrew married his soul mate, Frances Ida Peyton, at a church wedding in New Jersey. Together, they would embark on a journey that would span over the next 50 years. The couple were blessed with two sons, and as their family grew, they were blessed with two beautiful granddaughters.
To support his growing family, Andrew made a career in the US Air Force. Andrew served his country honorably, to include serving in Vietnam. For his hard work and dedication to duty, Andrew achieved the rank of Technical Sergeant, and was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal, Air Force Good Conduct Medal with 5 Oak leafs, Air Force Longevity Service Ribbon with 4 oak leafs, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. Andrew retired on October 31, 1981 after 20 years of faithful service.
Retirement offered Andrew and Fran time to enjoy the finer things in life. They lived in Southern Nevada for several years, until relocating for the past 10 years in Arizona where they made their home. Andrew was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed his time with his family, spending time with his cats, camping and fishing trips and serving his community through his local VFW post. Andrew also enjoyed attending Vegas shows and playing penny slots at his favorite casinos.
Andrew lived his life to the fullest and for his family and will truly be missed.
Andrew will be laid to rest with full military honors at 10:40 am on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Mem, Boulder City, NV 89005.
