Anthony Patrick De Zago

Tony De Zago aka Tony Mitchell, aka Funny Tony to his grandchildren, has passed away at the age of 77 in a Las Vegas, Nevada Hospital on July 4 at 10:15 AM. Tony has been in a loving partnership with Loretta for over 40 years.

Tony was a collector of all things, his passion was always to buy low and sell high. He was a man of detail, he could spend hours and sometimes days on a project meticulously making sure he didn’t miss a spot and it was done to perfection.

Tony was a showman, starting out his early days as a highly regarded drummer playing with some of the more popular bands of the era of the 60s, Tony was a sag card holder and had appeared on some popular television shows in the 60s and 70s, as musician he had written and recorded a few songs and albums. Tony was friends in the industry with people like Barry White, and the Righteous Brothers.

As Tony matured in life he had become in the most sought out auctioneers in the auction community. Tony was a wise businessman and beloved showman making friends wherever he would go. If you were lucky enough to join him for a dinner out it was always, an adventure to see if he would do a magic trick or play a money game with the restaurant staff and of course it was always Loretta's birthday.

Tony is survived by Loretta Burkey, who is 91 years young, and his Son Rob Gerson, Sister Sandra De Zago, Sister Maria Manizza, Brother Richard De Zago, Brother Geoffrey De Zago,

Step children, Kevin & Sheri Derryberry, Larna Scholl, Sherry & Tony Cordova, Steve Joor.

Grand children, Austin & Morgan Derryberry, Nicole & Jesse Gerondale, Katrina Awad, Rebecca & Samuel Valenzuela, Eva Cordova.

Great grandchildren, David Gerondale, Nezar Awad, Chezarae & Steven McBride, Anisa & Mario Larroque, Alexandra, Anthony, Joseph, Mariah, Alyssa Cordova, Abel & Arial Valenzuela.

A memorial service for Anthony will be held Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Palm Boulder Highway Mortuary, 800 South Boulder Highway, Henderson, NV 89015.
