
Audrey Mae Brown, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 7th, 2024, in Henderson, Nevada. She was 78 years old. Audrey was born on December 24th, 1945, in Los Angeles, California, and was the oldest of 12 siblings. She was a woman of great warmth, love, and strength, leaving behind an indelible mark on the lives she touched. Audrey spent over 30 years in social services for the County of Los Angeles, advocating for foster kids and youth and she retired at the age of 50 to embark on a new chapter with her beloved husband, James Brown. Audrey and James shared a profound bond that lasted for 56 years until her passing. Together, they embraced the joys of life, cherishing their time with family and exploring the world through their travels. Audrey adored her role as the matriarch of the family, bringing everyone together with her steadfast passion and unwavering loyalty. Family meant everything to Audrey, and she remained incredibly close to her children, sisters and brothers, always offering a listening ear and a comforting presence. She was preceded in death by her mother, Hazel Green, her father, John Green, her mother-in-law, Romeo Brown, her father-in-law, James Brown Sr, her brother Robert Green, her sister Beverly Green, and her niece Kemonte Reid. Audrey leaves behind a legacy of love and strength. She is survived by her devoted husband, James Brown Jr, her sisters Shirley Sanders, Barbara Swift, and Gloria Newman, her brothers Nathanial Green, Donald Green, Albert Green, Alvin Green and David Green. She is also survived by her daughter, Sherri Brown Francois, her son, James Brown III, her sister-in-law, Saundra Narin, her brother-in-law, Prince Narin, her son-in-law, Stan Francois, her daughter-in-law, Tina Brown, her grandsons, Noah Francois, Bryson Francois, Jayden Brown, and Lucas Seifer, as well as over 25 nieces and nephews whom she adored.
