

Bob W. Barker Jr., 79, of Las Vegas, passed away peacefully at his home October 21, 2017 with his wife at his side. He was born January 6, 1938 in Randall, Texas. His family moved from the state of Texas to Henderson in his youth. He attended Basic High School, where he learned how to play the guitar, and enjoyed being part of music class. He was also very active in sports, participating in track and field, and playing football. Upon graduation, Bob went on to continue his education at Coalinga College in Southern California where he also played football and earned his Associates Degree. Bob returned to Henderson, to work with his father at the test site as an electrician. He joined the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 357, which was the beginning of his lifelong career as a Journeyman Wireman. In 1959, Bob married his wife of 58 years, Jan. Bob was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed being involved with his family, fishing, offroading, camping. He never had a bad word for anyone and was everybody's rainbow! Bob was preceded in death by his father, Bob W. Barker, Sr.; mother, Edith E. Barker; and sister, Edith Jo Barker. He is survived by his wife, Jan; sons Steve and his wife Dawn, and David; granddaughters: Danielle, Lauren, and Amber; great granddaughter, Haylie; brother, Frank; and his lovable dog, Doodles.
