Carolyn Sue Flaherty, age 76, of Henderson, Nevada passed away on Friday, October 10, 2025. She was born on July 10, 1949 in Alma, Michigan to her parents Edwin and Bernice Rosland. Carolyn married the love of her life, Jerry on March 17, 1977 and would embarq on an adventure that would span over 48 years.
Carolyn built a long and dedicated career as a civil servant in telecom with the military at NAS North Island, where she worked until her well-earned retirement.
Carolyn was a woman of many talents; creative, determined, and full of heart. She loved working with leather, crocheting, quilling, woodworking and so many other things. Everything she made carried her love and creativity. She also loved traveling and spending time on the road with the Nevada Gypsies RV Club. Those trips brought her so much joy, exploring new places, making memories, and building lifelong friendships along the way.
Carolyn cherished the friendships she built over the years. Her friends were like family to her, people she could laugh with, lean on, and share life’s ups and downs. Those connections brought her so much joy, and she treasured every moment spent with them. But what Carolyn loved most was her family. She was an incredible wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, always there for her family, always cheering them on. She was involved in every part of their lives growing up, and they always knew how deeply they were loved.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, Jerry; her children: Kevin Mitchell (Robin), Kirt Mitchell (Karen), Karen Caesario, and Kathleen Grove (Keith); her grandchildren: Justin Mitchell, Krystal Matthews (Garrett), Justin Cheney, Jaxen Mitchell, Trevor Mitchell, Sarah Mitchell, Dakota Rogerson, Cheyenne Null (Donald), Shannon Spruce, Delanie Grove, Kassady Grove, and Emmalyn Grove; her great-grandchildren: Freya Matthews, Nora Matthews, and Ronan Null; and her siblings: Elaine Crawford and Larry Roslund.
A celebration of Carolyn's life will be held on Saturday, October 25 at the family home, in the backyard she loved so much. It was Carolyn's favorite place to gather with family and friends, and they know she would have wanted everyone sharing stories, laughter, and love in her honor.
