Christine Marie Martinez

Christine was preceded in death by her husband, Herman S. Martinez; her parents, Eloisa C. de Baca Gallegos and Eduardo Gallegos; brother, Lalo Ed Gallegos; sister, Herlinda Gallegos Chavez and two half brothers James and Albert Gallegos and her grandson, Robert Vincent Martinez.

Left to carry on her memory are sons Herman A. Martinez (Sylvia), of Las Vegas, NV; James L. Martinez (Frances), of Henderson, NV; John DePaul Martinez (Cass), of Albany, Oregon; and Carl Lee Martinez of Henderson, NV, and daughter, Eloise Neumiller (Mike),of Henderson; 14 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Christine came from a long and prominent New Mexico family. Her grandfather, Manuel C. de Baca, was a very prominent attorney in Las Vegas. Additionally, her great uncle, Ezequiel C. de Baca, was the first Hispanic elected for office as Lieutenant Governor in New Mexico's first election. His term as Lieutenant Governor was followed by his election as the second elected Governor of New Mexico.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 2, 2013, at Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, NV from 4-7 p.m. with a rosary at 6 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be Friday, January 3, 2013, at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, 204 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, NV at 10:00 a.m. with burial to follow at 11:30 a.m. at Palm Henderson Cemetery at 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, NV.
