David William Baker, 90, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2026, at home. He was born on November 15, 1935, in Toronto, Canada to Roy and Eva Baker. Dave was a proud resident of Boulder City, NV for over 30 years.
He was a member of the Royal Canadian Air Force for 10 years prior to joining United Airlines in 1964 for the next 31 years. He retired from United Airlines in 1995 as Captain and was best known to friends as Capt. Dave. He was a gentle soul who enjoyed adventure - scuba diving, fly fishing, sailing, hiking, skiing, riding his motorcycle well into his 80s, fast cars; but his two biggest passions were his family and flying.
Capt. Dave is survived by his loving partner, Maria Hernandez; his brother, Bob Baker (Jean), his two children: Curtis and LeeAnne (Michael); granddaughter, Remy Strang (Rob); and great granddaughter, Claire.
A Celebration of Life for Capt. Dave will be held from 1:00pm to 3:00pm, Monday, January 26, 2026 at Palm Henderson Mortuary, located at 800 South Boulder Highway, Henderson, NV, 89015
