Diane Kay Busicchia

Diane Kay (Hougen) Busicchia of Henderson passed away March 6, 2014 at St. Rose DeLima Hospital. in Henderson after a long battle with several illnesses. . She was born March 22, 1955 in Manitowoc, WI, to Kenward and Joyce Becker Hougen. The family moved to Henderson in 1956. She graduated from Basic High School in 1973, and received an associate degree from University of Nevada in Reno in 1975.

She married Mark Busicchia in Henderson in 1999, where they resided until her death. They enjoyed traveling, especially to Disneyland where they visited several times a year. She was a Pampered Chef Consultant, and was very active in Community Church of Henderson, serving as church treasurer. She was a member of American Business Women’s Association, Desert Dawn chapter. Diane also was president of Joy Fellowship at Community Church for several years.

Diane was preceded in death by her father, Kenward Hougen and her step-father Norbert (Brownie) Nies. She is survived by her husband Mark, step children Camille (Ryann) Langlois of Edmonds, Washington and Brandon Busicchia of Marysville, Washington, her mother Joyce Nies of Henderson , brother Mike Hougen of South Dakota , step sister Rae Ann Nies of Henderson and step brother Terry Nies of Las Vegas. Also surviving are 4 grandchildren, Rylee, Derreck, Shain & Aiden of Edmonds, Washington . Remembering her with affection are several aunts and cousins along with her special friends Barbara Manning of Henderson & Kathy Wotkyns of Port Hueneme, California.

A celebration of Diane’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. at Community Church of Henderson on Saturday March 15th. In lieu of flowers, tributes may be made to the family, Las Vegas German Shepherd Rescue Foundation (www.vegasshepherdrescue.com) , or the Community Church of Henderson, 360 E.
