Remembering Dillard "Al Gould

Dillard "Al" Gould, age 87, of Henderson, Nevada passed away on Friday, April 25, 2025. He was born to Daris Tossie and Mable Gould in Oviedo, Florida. Al enlisted in the US Army, where he served honorably for three years as a paratrooper.

After his service, Al used the GI bill to get an education in Electronics. He got a job with AT&T as a communications technician for 23 years. After AT&T, Al became a registered handyman. He did everything from carpentry to plumbing to fixing bicycles for the neighborhood kids. Al used every opportunity to teach and show all the kids how to fix things like their bikes, toys, and our cars. He was called “Mr. Al, the fixer man”.

Al had 3 children: Dillard Jr, Anita Alexander, and Wendy Clark. When Al married Twanna Medina, the couple adopted 3 children: Akeem, Devin and Esther Gould. As their family grew, he and Twanna were blessed with 16 grandchildren: (Dillard Jr) Steven, Britney, Jessica, Jennifer; (Anita) Lamar, Dillard Lamont, Dominique, Rea, Constance; (Wendy) Mareka, Zana, BeyShana, BeyShan Jr; (Devin) Elijah; (Esther) Ace.

Al was a Godly man and a wonderful father and husband. He enjoyed golf, bowling and fishing. Al tried to pass on this love of sports to his children and grandchildren. He always made time for the kids; playing with them and teaching them how to make a kite and fly it, how to fish and how to play basketball, etc. The neighborhood kids would come to him if they needed air in the tires of their bike or if it needed any kind of repair. The neighborhood kids would call on Al for a ride to school if they missed the bus. The neighborhood kids loved “Mr. Al”.

Al will be laid to rest at a later date in Florida; where he will be interred in Holly Hill Memorial Park.
