Donna Sherie Wirth

Donna Sherie Wirth of Henderson, Nevada passed away on May 30, 2014 at the age of 58. She was born in San Diego, California on August 25, 1955. She graduated from Fortuna High School in Fortuna, California. She went on to receive a Bachelors of Arts from Simpson College and a Master’s in Business Management from the University of Phoenix. She was married to Gary H. Wirth on August 4, 1997. She worked as Controller for the firm of Kaempfer Crowell Renshaw Gronauer and Fiorentino in Las Vegas, NV. Donna was gifted with a love she not only shared with family and friends, but also animals. From the age of three, Donna showed horses. She became an accomplished equestrian, going on to win National level awards. Her love of horses continued until just a few years ago. Donna’s love for horses did not diminish her love for her daughter. Hilaree was the center of her life. Donna had far more love to give. She met and loved Gary, and took him as her husband. Together, they continued Donna’s journey of loving life. Donna was not complete without the love of animals in her life. She began raising and showing Cocker Spaniel dogs. She became an accomplished handler, currently raising, training, and showing the number 14th ranked Cocker Spaniel (Parti variety) in the nation. It has been said that a dog’s love is close to God’s love; it is given unconditionally. Donna’s dogs loved her. Donna always strove to be the best. She got her accounting degree as a single mother. Later, she wanted more; she went on to get her Master’s in Business Administration. She continued on to become a Certified Managerial Accountant (CMA), a Certified Financial Manager (CFM) and a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE). As a member of the International Managerial Accountants, she served two years as the President of the Las Vegas Chapter of the IMA. She was a member the American Spaniel Club and on the Board of Directors for the Cocker Spaniel Club of Las Vegas. She was survived by her husband Gary Wirth of Henderson; mother Shirley George of Ocala, Florida; father Frank (Linda) Hizer of Fortuna, California; brother Joe (Nadya) Hizer of Palatka, Florida; daughter Hilaree (Steve) Pugh of Oceanside, California, and grandchildren Brayden and Kayleigh Pugh.
