Doris Mae Ruby

Doris Mae Ruby, age 89, of Henderson, Nevada, passed away August 5, 2024. Doris was born on August 6, 1954 in Des Moines, Iowa. She graduated from Grossmont High School, and eventually married Merle Ruby.

Doris had a career with Western Union as a Telegram Operator, as well as a change girl for the Golden Nugget Casino. Doris also worked in data graphics and built harnesses.

Doris had a passion for animals of all kinds, and she loved to pass her time doing embroidery, at which she was truly skilled and created beautiful works.

She is preceded in death by her husband Merle Ruby, her son Mike Edward Ruby, and her sister Lynda Sanders. She leaves to cherish her daughter Russella Lambrecht, and her brothers Don Sanders and John Tefft.

Mother dear has passed away

I know you're in a better place anyway

I'll remember your generosity

Beautiful gifts all wrapped with a bow,

I'll miss you so

Compliments you gave,

I will forever save

I didn't know I had so many tears,

As I write this poem for you in fear

I will never see you again

What will I do?

Where will I go?
