

Dorris was born to the union of Lorece Williams and Doris Craddock on June 27, 1943.
Dorris grew up in Bakersfield, California where she graduated from Bakersfield High School and briefly attended Bakersfield College.
On September 5, 1965, in Bakersfield, Dorris and Jonas S Roquemore were married. To this union of fifty- two years brought the births of two sons and a daughter. Dorris was a devoted wife and loving mother who brought laughter and love to all of those who knew her.
Dorris was an active member of Union Missionary Baptist Church and St Peters Missionary Church at which she sang in the choir, was on the usher board and taught Sunday School. She also attended Blood of the Lamb Church of Las Vegas.
She showed her love though cooking her beloved coconut cakes, banana pudding and peach cobblers. She was also a very patient soul who helped to educate autistic children.
Dorris Mae leaves behind to cherish her loving memories: her mother, Doris L Williams of Mt. Pleasant, TX; her husband, Jonas S. Roquemore, Jr.; her children, Eric Lawrence, Bryan Scott and Rochelle Marie, all of Henderson; daughter-in-laws, Margaret and Melissa Roquemore. Her sister, Marlo Peeples of Mt Pleasant, TX; brothers Lawrence and Lorece Jr of Bakersfield, California; sister- in- laws, Sylvia Williams, Kelly Williams and Anita Denise; grandchildren, Jassmin, Evan, Alejandra, Malik, Katelynn, Deztanie, Jace, Jabari, Amorian, Jaylon, Jezell Roquemore and Anthony Sanchez; and a host of family and friends. She was preceeded in death by her father and two brothers.
