Jean Marie Carr

Jean Marie Carr, age 93, of Henderson, Nevada passed away on Friday, July 10, 2020. She was born on February 9, 1927 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to her parents were Joseph and Florence O’Hara. Jean was the eldest of four children. Her siblings were Kay Higgins, Alma Pastore, and Joseph O’Hara.

Even though the Great Depression and World War II were occurring, Jean continued on with her Catholic elementary and Hallihan High School education in Philadelphia. She met the love of her life, Bernard Carr, after World War II and married on May 22, 1948. Jean and Bernard Carr were blessed to have four children, Joanne, Bernadette, Bernie, and Mary. Jean has eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Jean worked at Sears Service Center repairing appliances while raising her family. As time went on, Jean left Philadelphia and moved to Ocean City, New Jersey and finally to Henderson, Nevada. She was an extremely generous person. Jean volunteered continually for her Church, her children’s schools, and finally the Senior Center and Food Bank in Henderson, Nevada.

Jean lived a long healthy life until the age of ninety-three. Her Catholic Memorial Mass will be held October 13th, 2020 at 11:00 A.M., at Saint Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Henderson, Nevada. She will be laid to rest at the Southern Nevada Veteran Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, Nevada following the Mass.

Jean will be missed not only by friends and family, but by many members of the community. God Bless your eternal rest. Happy Trails Jean, until we all meet again.
