Jo Kent McBeath (May 5, 1936, to May 8, 2024) was born in Denver, Colorado to Jo H. and Dorothy (Dottie) McBeath. Kent, as he was known to by most, graduated from Basic High School in Henderson Nevada where he was a star basketball player. After graduating George Washington University, he held a two-year internship in Youngstown, Ohio along with serving two years in the United States Air Force at Luke Air Force Base in Phoenix, Arizona where he achieved the rank of Captain. From his very first day practicing medicine, his passion for the care he provided to his patients was his main priority. His patients absolutely loved him.
When Kent wasn’t practicing medicine, you could find him golfing at Las Vegas Country Club with his buddies. He was an avid golfer with a 6 handicap in his prime. He played golf at modified levels with his Ali Baba golf buddies until the very end, boasting about how much money he would win, usually $2 - $5. When not out on the golf course, you could find Kent playing poker where he played at some large tournaments in Las Vegas.
Kent’s biggest accomplishment in life were his children (Mike, Julie, Rob, and Bill). He would see them all complete their college education, marry, and start families of their own. He adored all his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved spending time with his family and never failed to attend a family gathering or event. His true legacy in life was his family and he was a very proud father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
