Jo Ann was born on July 31, 1937 to Leona and Clarence Nelson in Marcus, Iowa. Jo Ann moved to Henderson Nevada as a young girl and attended Basic High School. Jo Ann married Richard Burl Thompson on April 18, 1953. They celebrated their 60th anniversary just before Richards passing in 2013.
Jo Ann is survived by her four children, Deborah (Bob) Brown, Richard (Jackie) Thompson, Donna (Dusty) Brand and Michael (Tammy) Thompson, 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; two sisters, Patricia Paquette and Judith Lemerand; and one brother, Larry Nelson (Rachel) all of Las Vegas.
