

John "Bill" Deen, age 72, of Henderson, Nevada went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 2, 2022. He was born May 23, 1950 in Nowata, Oklahoma to John O. Deen and Jean (Rowland) Deen. He married Mary C. (McMullen) on August 22, 1970; they had 51 wonderful years together.
Bill grew up on a ranch. He attended Diamand Point Grade School; It was a one room country schoolhouse. He graduated from Nowata High School in 1968. Bill continued his education; attending Oklahoma State University for two years before he enlisted in the United States Air Force on August 22, 1971.
During his time in the U.S. Air Force, Bill worked as a Relay Equipment Repairman, Aircraft Pneudraulics Technician, and repaired AWACS planes. He was stationed in Germany, Greece, Korea, Saudi Arabia and the United States throughout his career. He retired from the U.S. Air Force in August of 1993. After retiring from the U.S. Air Force, Bill went on to become a contractor for the U.S. Department of Defense and gave his country another 23 years of his life.
Bill loved southern gospel and riding roller coasters. He enjoyed attending UNLV football and basketball games; but, his greatest joy in life was his grandchildren. He will be missed by many.
Preceding him in death was his mother, Jean (Rowland) Deen and his father, John O. Deen. He is survived by his wife, Mary; three sons: Jason and Kelly Deen of Sparks, N.V., J.J. Deen and Joni Snyder of Henderson, N.V., and Rustan Deen and Becca of Henderson, N.V.; and six grandkids whom he loved dearly: Pyper, Cougar, Rustan II, Ireland, Audrey and Everly. He is also survived by his mother, Della Ann Deen; sister, Betty Deen of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; and brother, Dale and Ann Deen of Honolulu, Hawaii.
Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, July 21st at The Well Church, 800 Cadiz Ave. Henderson, N.V. 89015. The viewing will from 9:30 AM to 10 AM. The service will begin at 10:00 AM. Bill will be laid to rest with full Military Honors 12:00 PM at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veteran’s Memorial Drive, Boulder City, N.V. 89005
Bill was a patriot and loved Hawaiian shirts. Please feel free to dress as such.
