

It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of John Bradford Goodwin, 68, of Henderson, Nevada. John passed peacefully on February 7, 2025 in his home surrounded by family and friends after a 5-year long battle with cancer.
John was born on May 10, 1956 in Margaretville, New York, and raised in Malone, New York. He was the son of James and Virginia (Snow) Goodwin, who preceded him in death. John graduated from Franklin Academy High School as part of the class of 1975, where he was an active member of the swim team. Upon graduation, John enlisted in the United States Air Force. He served honorably for 20 years, retiring in 1995 as a Technical Sergeant. During that time, he served as a Communications Specialist at Cheyenne Mountain Complex (NORAD) located in Colorado Springs, Colorado. It was here that John met the love of his life, Natalie (Torres) Goodwin of Riverside, California. After a career change to Security Police, John served at Peterson AFB (CO), Royal Air Force Chicksands (United Kingdom), Homestead AFB (FL), Dyarbakir (Turkey), March AFB (CA), Thule Air Base (Greenland), and his final duty station Nellis AFB (NV).
After retirement from the United States Air Force, John and Natalie planted their roots in Las Vegas, Nevada. John continued serving his community through various security jobs, and went back to school to earn a certificate from Kaplan University for Medical Billing Coding. John was a member of Central Church in Henderson, Nevada for 26 years. John loved his Stanley Cup Champions, Vegas Golden Knights, NASCAR, RV’ing, sewing with his wife and his new found love of hot air ballooning.
John is survived by his wife of 47 years, Natalie; sons: James (Christina) Goodwin of Odenton, Maryland and John Goodwin II (Kimberley) of Woodstock Illinois; daughter, Janelle Goodwin of Las Vegas, Nevada; brother, David (Kathy) Goodwin of Malone, New York; sister, Amy Goodwin Robert of Saint Albans, Vermont; 6 grandchildren: Isaiah, Elaina, Emma, Natalie, Camden and Noah; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on March 1, 2025 at 11:00 am at Central Church, 1001 New Beginnings Drive, Henderson, NV 89011. John will be laid to rest on March 3, 2025 at 1:15 pm at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd, Riverside, CA 92518.
