Joyce Adams

Elaine Joyce Stewart Adams, age 90, of Henderson, Nevada, passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2024. She was born November 22, 1933, in Royal (Rolapp) Utah and was raised in Alamo, Nevada. Joyce loved her family, was a good baker and a talented musician. She loved to read, spent countless hours researching family history, and enjoyed all types of needlework, crocheting and crafting. Joyce grew beautiful violets and roses, and loved visiting Newport Beach, California.

As a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Joyce’s service to others and her quiet influence for good will continue to be felt by others. She served in many church callings over the years. Some of her favorites were choir director and Cub Scout den mother, in addition to working in the temple. Joyce will be remembered for being a woman of faith, hard work and service to others.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Nyle Adams; parents: Marion and Louise Stewart; and sisters: Mina Hardy, Mary Lou Hardy and Marva Sullivan. She is survived by her children: Shaunene (Sherrill) Edwards, Janae Adams, Shane (Maura-Lee) Adams, Lance (Debbie) Adams, and informally adopted daughter, Janet Benavidez. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Joyce will be held Thursday, June 20, 2024 beginning at 10:40 AM at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Dr, Boulder City, NV 89005.
