

Kenneth Norman Proctor of Henderson, Nevada passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2014; entering Heaven and being made whole again. He was born October 21, 1945 in Phoenix, Arizona. He graduated from Chaffey High School in Ontario, California in 1963 and Chaffey College in 1971. Upon graduation from high school Ken joined the US Marine Corp, serving in Vietnam. Later, he went on to join the Ontario Police Dept. in Ontario, Ca. from 1967-1972. He then joined the Henderson Police Department in Henderson, NV until 1993. Ken was awarded the position of Municipal Court Judge in the Henderson Municipal Court. In 1994 Ken founded S.A.F.E. House, a domestic violence shelter for families. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Ruth Proctor. He is survived by his love, Julie Proctor, and son Travis Szynski (Nicole). He is also survived by his children and their spouses; Kathy Parnell (Doug), Karen West (Jamie), Kimberly Proctor-Cooley (Tarl), and their mother, Sharon Gurtner, his grandchildren; Robert Cook, Tiffani Smith and Matthew Parnell; 5 great grandchildren; his brother, Jim Proctor (Maryann) and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at Palm Mortuary in Henderson, NV on Wednesday, May 21 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 22 at 10:00 a.m. at Palm Mortuary with burial to follow at The Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City.
