Ferna "Leslie" Marsh passed away on 5/3/2025 at the age of 94. She was born on 10/1/1930 in Jesup, Arkansas. She moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1935 and married Gene Salyer in 1947. They had three children. They divorced in 1957. She relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1958 and married Arno Marsh. Together they welcomed a fourth child. After residing in Las Vegas from 1958 to 1980, they moved to Grove, Oklahoma. They soon made the town of Grove their home, settling into a quaint farmhouse on 21 acres. Rural life suited Leslie well. She loved being outdoors tending her large garden, caring for the barnyard animals, overseeing the planting and harvesting of crops and making improvements to the old house. Leslie and Arno moved back to Las Vegas in 1993 to be with family. They chose Boulder City to call home. Leslie eagerly embraced the community, quickly forming many life-long friendships and close ties with clergy and fellow parishioners at St. Andrew Catholic Church. Her long professional career as a secretary / office manager for various businesses included many years at Kelly & Reber Advertising Agency and Administrative Assistant to the Dean at UNLV. Leslie was an avid reader, accomplished gardener, and talented crocheter. She absolutely loved Mexican food and chocolate pie. Holiday dinners always included her favorite cornbread stuffing shared with at least 35 family members. She always said that of all of her accomplishments and the fulfillment they brought, nothing came close to the joy family gave her. Family always came first to Leslie and she was always there for them. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Every new addition to the family held a special place in her heart. She was preceded in death by Arno Marsh her husband of 61 years, son James A Marsh, son-in-law Lee Shields, great-grandaughters Chloe Puckett and Fiona Whipkey, ex-husband Gene Salyer father of Linda, Bob and Nancy. Leslie is survived by daughters Linda SHiels and Nancy (Don) O'Shaughnessy, and son Bob (Linda) Salyer; 8 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, 5/20 at 11:30 am at Saint Andrew Catholic Community 1399 San Felipe, Boulder City, NV 89005. A reception will be held in the church hall.
