Margaret Zlotucha Waschitz, affectionately known by family as "Dolly," passed away peacefully at her Henderson, Nevada home on September 30, 2025, at the age of 97. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years, Jack Waschitz, and her seven siblings.
The youngest of Michael and Rozalia Zlotucha's eight children, Margaret was born in Dickson City, Pennsylvania. Her siblings were Frances (Stephen) Krempasky, John (Ann), Chester (Rose), Edward (Andrea), Leonarda, Frederick (Jean), and Marie (William) Wright. She is survived by many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-niece and nephews.
After dedicating many years to service in the Catskill's Green Acres resort dining room, Margaret returned to her hometown to open Margaret's Floral Shop before marrying Jack. Their deep and abiding love for each other was evident to all. They shared a passion for travel, exploring numerous states together before retiring to Henderson, and embarked on memorable journeys to Europe and a cruise on the Queen Mary II. A true love of nature and animals, and a shared enjoyment of trap shooting, further defined their bond. They were renowned for their generous hospitality and cherished attending family celebrations whenever possible.
Margaret lived her life with fierce independence and a beautiful spirit, always speaking her mind when moved to do so. Her impeccable style was legendary; she never left the house without a perfectly matched outfit, complete with scarf, jewelry, and purse. She will be fondly remembered for her exceptional memory and wit, treasured friendships, extraordinary gardens, kindness and generosity, and appreciation for beautiful artwork and home décor.
Margaret was dearly loved and will be profoundly missed. May she rest in peace.
