She was born on April 8th, 1953 in Henderson, NV to Mae and Vernon Halliday who preceded her in death.
She married Harold Gove on December 25th, 1976. They were married for 44 years. Together they raised three children, Lisa (Charles) Beicker (51), Darrin (Christine) Gove (48), and Glenn Gove (42). They moved to Colorado in 1982 for a cooler climate and really enjoyed their time there. She loved her garden, fruit trees, berries, and the wild asparagus that grew in their yard. In 1994 they moved back to Henderson to be closer to their parents and family members.
Marion was a devoted wife, mom, daughter, sister, and friend. Everyone loved calling her for advice and more importantly her recipes. She loved to cook, bake, and can. Some of her favorite things were dark chocolate, wine, coffee, ice cream, reading, doing word searches, playing bingo & card games, spending time with family & friends, and watching her soap operas. She was an exceptional waitress. Her favorite time was working at Janey’s Chili Wagon in Cañon City. She loved Janey, the staff, and all the people she waited on. She had an incredible memory and often would just ask her customers if they wanted the usual. Marion had a big heart for kids. Many of her nieces and nephews came to live with them in Colorado. She loved having them and her children’s friends over. It was always a big laughing session. Everyone loved being around her.
Marion loved her grandson’s, Tristen (21) and Ashton (17) Beicker. Even though they did not live in the same state they were very close. She also had a tight nit family. She loved her brother Chuck Halliday, sisters Gloria (Bucky) Oxford, LaVern Proffitt, and Janet (Mark) Dippre. Most of them would talk daily. She had a big heart and loved her brothers and sister in laws, nieces, nephews, and other family members as well. In addition to her friends that were like family to her.
Her faith was important to her. She loved Jesus very much. She is now in his arms with no more pain or suffering from the multiple areas she had cancer, heart issues or the lyme disease that she suffered from for more than 20 years. She was tiny but mighty, stronger than she looked, and she never gave up hope.
