

It is with deep sorrow that we share the passing of Marvin Edwards Wallace, our beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Brother following a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer surrounded by his family. He was born in Converse, LA March 30, 1942 to Marvin Truitt and Anita Wallace Carter Lowe. Marvin was preceded in death by his father Marvin Truitt Wallace when Marvin was 15, Mother Anita Wallace Carter Lowe, his brother John Wallace, and his precious grandson Alexander Wallace who are all waiting for him in heaven. To help support his family, he delivered the Newspaper before school. Marvin is survived by his loving wife, Caroline Eckert Wallace, son, Marvin James Wallace (Yvonne), Daughter Jennifer Wallace Hagenbeek (Cris), Grandchildren, Elizabeth, Noah, Shelby and Austin, Brother, David Wallace (Jaine), Sister, Virginia Rae(Hans) and many nieces and nephews. His family moved to Las Vegas in 1954, where he attended Crestwood and Sunrise Elementary Schools, graduated from Las Vegas High School in 1960 and NSU (now known as UNLV) with his Mother, earning a degree of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He worked for Bank of Nevada, Nevada State Tax Commission as an auditor, and retired after thirty years of service with Southwest Gas as a Regulatory Specialist. Marvin and Caroline met in the seventh grade at Crestwood Elementary School. Marvin asked her to the LVHS Junior Prom, and they became High School Sweethearts and were married for 59 years. Together they raised their Son Marvin and Daughter Jennifer in Las Vegas. Marvin was an avid sportsman, a lifelong fan of the Detroit Lions and UNLV Rebels, often travelling to Hawaii for Rebel football games. His interests were reading, sports, Westerns, Sudoku, but most important of all was taking his family on many cruises and family trips, where he really enjoyed spending time with his family. He will be loved and missed by his large extended family. Visitation will be held at Palm Boulder Hwy Mortuary and Cemetery, 800 S Boulder Hwy, Henderson, NV. On July 28 from 3:00PM- 7:00PM. Funeral Service will be Fri, July 29 at 3:00PM with reception to follow at his favorite eatery, Pacific Diner, 18 W. Pacific Ave, Henderson, 89015 from 5:00PM- 8:00PM.
