

Michael James Stepetic, 64, of Henderson, Nevada, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 6, 2016, after being diagnosed recently with lung cancer and pneumonia. He was in hospice care at St. Rose Dominican Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada for his final days. Born in McKeesport, Pennsylvania on August 8, 1951, he was the beloved son of Michael Francis Stepetic and Catherine Rose (Bertovich) Stepetic. He graduated from McKeesport High School in 1969 and went on to attend and graduate from Kent State University, Ohio, in 1976 with a degree in Business Administration. Michael, gifted with a great sense of humor and a great gift of gab, was able to utilize those gifts throughout his successful sales career, most recently with General Mills in San Diego, California and Las Vegas, Nevada. He enjoyed all sports, but golf was his true passion, He played as many different courses as possible but always focused on his goal to play the links at Pebble Beach in Monterey, California. Michael was a compassionate animal lover, and treasured his cat, Sassy, and his dog, Misty, with whom he spent many, many years. Preceeded in death by his parents, Michael is survived by his two sisters, Michele Morris of Alexandria, Virginia and Arlene Bachen of Clayton, North Carolina, two nieces, two nephews, and many cousins. He also leaves behind his dearest friends of almost 50 years, Gary and Sonna Hosta of Glendale, Arizona. Truly family to Michael, he spent many holidays, family times, and special occasions with them over the years, always bringing a Honey Baked Ham to the festivities. Arrangements are being handled by Palm Mortuary Services in Henderson, Nevada. Services will be private.
