Moala Veatupu (Lutui) Pauni

Moala Veatupu Pauni, age 88, of Uiha Ha'apai & Ha'alaufuli Vava'u, Tonga passed away peacefully on Friday, November 05, 2021. Moala was born July 14, 1933 to her parents Mosese Lutui and Ane Petiola Kinikini.

Our dear mother devoted her life to her 13 children, 47 grandchildren, and 39 great grandchildren.

Moala has grown into the amazing person we call "MOM". Her infectious laugh and sarcastic tendencies have made life all the livable for us and have shown us that life is meant to be spent in joy and happiness. She has shown her humility through her dire need for saving money, not to fund our need for any luxuries, but our constant need for food, clothing, shelter, and education.

The strength she found in God was absolutely astonishing, and it has gotten her through inconceivable hardships. We admire our mother as the woman of good humor, humility, and strong faith in the Lord that she was.

Moala was preceded in death by her husband, Tevita Kaili Pauni; parents: Mosese Lutui and Ane Petiola Kinikini; 6 siblings: Vika, Ana, Tevita, Otile, Ofiu, and Fatongia; two children: Sione V. Pauni and Atelaite M. Pauni, and one of the children she raised, Pita Pauni. She is survived by her children: Mele P. Tualau; Etika M. Pauni, Mohokoi H. Naeata, Mosese L. Pauni, Ana F. Fuapau, Evalina S. Funaki, Iva Losina Seui, Folau F. Pauni, Maile M. Pauni, Tupou U. Pahulu, Joeann G. Thevenin; and the children that she raised: Melonia Leota, Taufa'ao Pauni, Paea Pauni, Lea'aetoa Pauni, Matapa Moimoi, Hemaloto Lelea and Luisa Filimoehala; 7 siblings: Mafi, Ilisapesi, Katalina, Taufu'i, Kalani, Fe'ofa'aki; 47 Grandchildren: Paleiono, Rita, Melvin, Etika Jr, Alex, Quinton, Amy, Foeata, Kaili Jr, Jessica, Mary, Tuifua, Lavinia, Alfred, Melema'u, Jotasem, Teukava, Travis, John, Melvin, Pearl, Selama'u, Pretty-Brittany, Mosese, Kaili, Ane, Atunaisa, Deborah, Ofa, Vaoahi, Sabrina, Halafili, Ane Petiola, Edgar, Emili, Mele Pipiena, Masiu, Tevita, Fancylela, Tevita, Kaili, Anau, Papa Leka, Ofa ki Papua, Moala, Joeann, Gregory, Celeste; and 39 great grandchildren.

A visitation for Moala will be held Friday, November 19, 2021 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Palm Boulder Highway Mortuary, 800 South Boulder Highway, Henderson, NV 89015. A visitation will occur Saturday, November 20, 2021 from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 303 S. Cholla Street, Henderson, NV 89015. Funeral Services will follow at Noon. Moala will be laid to rest at Palm Henderson Cemetery, 800 South Boulder Highway, Henderson, NV 89015.
