

Orin E. Serviss III, age 78, passed away on February 6, 2026, in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born on June 21, 1947, in Marysville, California, to his parents, Orin Jr. and Frances Serviss. The family relocated to Long Beach, where Orin graduated from Polytechnical High School in 1965. Orin went on to continue his education, attending California State University Long Beach; receiving his Bachelor's in Japanese and Asian Studies. He also studied engineering, history, and math.
Orin was drafted into the US Army on April 18, 1967. During his tour of duty, he spent time in Taiwan and Japan, where he was assigned to Top Secret Crypto for secure communications to Camp Zama and the US Embassy in Tokyo. Orin was honorably discharged on October 1, 1969, achieving the rank of Specialist Five, and receiving a National Defense Service Medal and Sharpshooter Badge.
Following his service, Orin worked as an engineer for the US government. He enjoyed work trips to Finland, Denmark, London, Germany, and Spain. In his spare time, he liked hunting and fishing.
After his retirement, Orin enjoyed camping, day fishing, and going out to dinner. Orin lived his life to the fullest and will be greatly missed.
A visitation will be held at Palm Henderson Mortuary, located at 800 South Boulder Highway, Henderson, NV 89015, on February 23, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
A Military Honors Service will take place at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City, NV 89005, on February 24, 2026, beginning at 10:40 am.
