Richard married Pamela Kowatsch on May 19, 2008.
Richard worked as a Heavy equipment operator. He worked at Cemex and Rinker.
Richard was a past Commander at the American Legion. He enjoyed country music and NASCAR.
He is proceeded in death by his mother; Janice Joyce Knowlton.
He is survived by his wife; Pam, brothers; Doug (Trula) Simmons -Meeker, Colorado, John (Sandra) Simmons- Las Vegas, Nevada, children; Christy (Larry) Olivas- Greeley, Colorado, Dale Simmons- Franklin, Kentucy, Mandie Simmons- Golden Valley, Arizona, grandchildren Danielle, Chandra, Cheyenne, Jonathon, Fred Jr, Jonathan, Aimee, Jayden and 2 great-grandchildren; Audrie and Kassidy.
A Celebration of Richard's lif will be held on September 23 from 1 to 4 pm at the American Legion.
There will be another Celebration on October 15 in Meeker, Colorado.
