Rosa Aurora Hernandez

Rosa Aurora Hernandez, age 75, of Las Vegas, Nevada passed away on Friday, July 8, 2022. She was born on March 1, 1947 in Los Angeles, California to Inez Ramirez; an officer in the Air Force; and Guadalupe Huerta, a homemaker. Rosa was the oldest of five children. She graduated from Huntington Park High School, then completed two years of college at East Los Angeles College.

In the summer of 1968, she met the man of her dreams, Ernesto Trejo Hernandez, and on June 21, 1969, they married, and spent 53 beautiful years together. She was a loving wife and mother and helped raise three children.

Rosa had a passion for teaching and education. She was well known by her family for her patience and ability to teach challenging students at her job as a teacher’s aide. Rosa also loved to travel and absolutely adored her family. She was known for her infectious smile, generosity, and her kind and compassionate spirit.

Rosa is survived by her husband, Ernesto Hernandez; her children: Ernest (Daphne) and Fabian (Selia) Hernandez, her daughter, Erika (Jack) Shangle; five grandchildren: Madison Shangle, Elizabeth Hernandez, Samantha Hernandez, Amy Hernandez, and Lauren Hernandez; and siblings: Robert Ramirez, Richard Ramirez, Lucy Delgado and Guadalupe Ramirez.

A visitation for Rosa will be held Sunday, July 17, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Palm Boulder Highway Mortuary, 800 South Boulder Highway, Henderson, NV 89015. A funeral mass will be Monday, July 18, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, 204 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, NV 89015. Rosa will be laid to rest at Palm Henderson Cemetery, 800 South Boulder Highway, Henderson, NV 89015.
