Ruben Perez

Ruben Perez, age 62, of Las Vegas, Nevada passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2023. He was born on February 7, 1961 in Mexico to his parents Ramiro Perez Rivera and Rosario Perez Ruiz. Ruben was raised in Tijuana as a young child, and his his teens, Jalisco with his older sister, Evelia; younger sister, Genoveva; and three younger brothers: Jaime, Hector, and Isaias. He enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with his friends playing soccer.

As a young man looking for opportunity; Ruben migrated to the United States, setting in Southern California. It was in California, that he would develop his love for cooking, meet the love of his life, and start his family. On October 19, 1991 he and soulmate, Marta Beltran Pineda would get married in Compton, California. Together the young couple would be blessed with three children, and as their families grew; they were blessed with one grandchild.

As their family was growing; Ruben was looking for stability for his home and his family. The family relocated to southern Nevada; where Ruben would start working in the hotel industry. To support his family, Ruben worked as a chef within the hotel and casino industry for over 20 years; where he was looking forward to retiring prior to his sudden passing.

Ruben was a loving husband, father and grandfather, who was completely devoted to his family and his home; he centered his life around them. He loved spending time with family; BBQing his favorite food on the open fire, hosting poker parties with his cousins, building and fixing things around his home; and in his leisure time; Ruben, liked watching Netflix movies and his favorite Soccer teams on TV, and playing video games. Whenever he had the chance to travel, he enjoyed taking trips to his homeland to visit Amatitan Jalisco Mexico.

Ruben was the kind of person who could win others over easily. He lived his life for his friends and his family, offering a seemingly endless supply of love and stories. Ruben lived his life to the fullest and this is how everyone will remember Ruben Perez; he will truly be missed.

Ruben was preceded in death by his father, Ramiro Perez Rivera. He is survived by his wife, Marta Perez; his mother, Rosario Perez Ruiz, three children: Lucero Maya (Richard), Rosario Perez, and Luis Perez; siblings: Evelia Perez, Genoveva Perez (Filiberto), Jaime Perez, Hector Perez, Isaias Perez; and his granddaughter, Nayeli Lucero Perez.

A visitation for Ruben will be held Friday, February 24, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 PM, both at Palm Boulder Highway Mortuary, 800 South Boulder Highway, Henderson, NV 89015. Ruben will be laid to rest at Palm Henderson Cemetery, in Henderson, Nevada.
