Theodore D. Sandoval, age 83, of Las Vegas, Nevada, was called to his final resting place on Friday, September 4, 2020 after his battles with many health challenges including Alzheimer’s. He was born April 16, 1937 in Chama, New Mexico to Magdelena Romero and Qunino Sandoval, and was the eldest of 8 children. Theodore was a resident of Henderson, Nevada for over 67 years.
As a young man Ted served in the U.S. Navy as a Deep Sea Diver, and continued his service as a Reservist for an additional 20 years. His career path was varied for his life as he chose to follow the path of what he loved to do. During his career paths he did a brief stint working at TIMET followed by 20 years of being a bellman for the Stardust. Although Ted was ready for a change, he wasn’t quite ready to retire. Throughout his life, he loved building and renovating homes, before it even became popular. His family was not surprised when love for being a builder grew into his final career before retirement; Ted became a Carpenter/Electrician for the Test Site and Area 51.
Theodore loved adventures. You could expect an invitation when he packed up the car, truck or motorhome and set off to travel the wide-open excursions of our country. He never failed to mention that his greatest accomplishments were his children, and his love for each one of them.
Ted was preceded in death by his father, Qunino Sandoval; mother, Magdelena Romero; daughter, Lisa Sandoval; sons: Peter and Manual Sandoval; and sister, Mary Maestas. He is survived by his daughter, Loretta Oakes (Guy); sons: Troy, Ted (Mary Catherine), Joshua (Brandi), and Alex Sandoval; 14 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters, 4 brothers and countless nieces and nephews.
Due to Covid-19 and Government Restrictions are in place.
