

Theresa G Christiansen, 97, of Henderson, passed away July 4, 2023 in Henderson, Nevada. Theresa was born on December 4, 1925, in South Acton, Massachusetts, USA. She graduated from Cheverus High School in Malden, Massachusetts, and later attended classes at Nevada Southern (now UNLV). She met Raymond Christiansen, Sr. and they married on September 11, 1944.
When Theresa married in 1944, she had never been more than 30 miles from home. During the course of her lifetime she lived in Massachusetts, Tennessee, Minnesota, Illinois, Arizona, Nevada, California, Wyoming, Oregon, Idaho, and Washington state. In 1993 she returned to Henderson, Nevada, and with the exception of a couple of years spent with her sisters, she lived out her life in Henderson surrounded by family and friends.
Theresa taught third grade at St. Peter’s parochial school in the 1960’s, and later worked in the Faith Formation office of St. Peter’s parish, both as a volunteer, and then as an employee, for close to 30 years.
Theresa had a passion for helping others, and acted as a Eucharistic Minister, bringing communion to the sick; worked with the St. Vincent DePaul Society to distribute food to the hungry; and visited the homebound.
She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond Christiansen, Sr., sister Mary Anne DePauw (Prosper), brother Frances O’Hearn (Jennie), brother Joseph O’Hearn (Marilyn), and infant grandson Michael Forgeron.
She is survived by her sister Ann Crist; her daughter Mary Rose Henssler (Robert), her son Raymond Christiansen, Jr. (Ann); granddaughters Linda Fellows, Alainore Stallard (Mike), Stephanie Waldbauer, and Daryen and Blake Martin; grandsons Robert Henssler Jr. (Cory) and Nathan Henssler (Jessica); great grandchildren Erika McKaig (Mark), Megan Burch, Michael and Charlotte Stallard, Caleb, Sky, Emma and Gabriel Waldbauer, Mitchell and Clint Stallard, and Maddie, Kohl, Addison and Lauryn Henssler. Theresa is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, all of whom she loved dearly.
Visitation and recitation of the rosary will be held at Palm Mortuary on Boulder Highway on August 15 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Peter’s Church on August 16 at 9:30 a.m.
Interment will follow at the Veteran’s Cemetery in Boulder City on August 16 at 11:20 a.m.
A reception and light luncheon will follow at St. Peter’s Hall from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
