AVIS DE DÉCÈS

Allen Charles Berger

29 décembre 195621 février 2021

Allen Charles Berger, age 64, of Miramar, Florida passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2021 at 1030pm. Allen was born December 29, 1956 in Atlanta, Georgia. Allen was a pioneer in the garage door industry. He started off installing doors with his father and brother, then started his own company “Berger All Door” in 1985 to manufacture garage doors. Then later by DAB Door.

He was very innovative and imaginative. He was the first to come out with hurricane code garage doors. Followed by hurricane code doors that had windows. The doors that he designed back in 1985 still meet code to this day. He set out to make the strongest hurricane code door that could be made. He was always improving on the look, design and sound of the garage door. Not only was he always wiling to give a helping hand but he treated his customers and employees as if they were friends and family.

May God have him in his glory now and forever. He will forever live in our hearts and minds.

Amen.

Allen is survived by his spouse, Teresa Brana; mother Joan Prait Berger.

My condolences, to the entire Berger family, childhood friends. Remembering times on Prati's sandpile, First Holy Communion with brother Joe and a chance meeting by Allen at Braman Cadillac where I worked. May God Bless you all, RIP Allen.

I was privileged to represent Allen and the Berger family in connection with the protection of their business. Alan was, as we all know, a most unique person. But his most outstanding quality was his love for family and life. Allen never forgot a kindness extended to him and appreciated all those who cared for and about him.
Alan always made me laugh when we spoke. I will miss my friend Allen Berger. He was, in many ways, larger than life.

Allen and my dad Dick Burke go back over thirty years as they were the “little guys” taking on the big dogs of the garage door industry. Innovators and visionaries, they were able to accomplish great things.
Allen’s commitment to his friends and family was unquestionable. You will never find someone where their actions consistently exceeded their words. The sincerity of his relationship with my dad that he carried over to me and the rest of my family is something that I will forever cherish.
May you rest in peace Allen Charles Berger. My dad will surely welcome you in heaven and you can enjoy each other’s company once again.

I met Allen many years ago! He had called All Florida Garage on a Saturday and introduced himself over the phone. He was trying to sell his Dabb Garage Doors. I immediately liked him and had him come to the office. We sold many of his doors and loved working with him and his family. Allen was a sweet, giving and a kind man. Allen was also, very close to my son, Michael Bradwell. We gave Allen a nickname: Uncle Allen. Michael really enjoyed having lunches with Allen and his family. He was a very special man and will always have a place in my heart and Michael's as well. God bless your family at this time. We are so sorry for your loss. Marlene and Mike

We will miss Allen’s wit and visionary ideas. I looked forward to the many Thursdays at 4:00 pm for our regular appointment. With some wine and food we wrote many patent applications. All of them were allowed except one- that one is a long story. Allen’s photographic memory kept me on my toes.

A very caring friend who was truly concerned whenever anything went South for me or my wife. And very transparent.

Angie and I will miss you.
