Ernestina Ruiz

She was born on March 10, 1939 in Havana, Cuba to Evelio De Aguiar and Maria Del Carmen Iglesias Blanco. She and her husband, Macario Olsen Ruiz, migrated to United States in 1973 and later settled in Elizabeth, New Jersey to raise their children before they retired to Hialeah, Florida. She was known for her passion and devotion to her family.

Tina was predeceased by her husband, her parents, her brothers Evelio and Luis, her sisters Marta and Maria Amelia, and her grandson Erik Alvarez.

She is survived by her daughters Diana Alvarez, Ernestina Raad, and Mayra Vovchik; her sons Jesus Ruiz and Alejandro Ruiz; her sons-in-law Ennis Alvarez, Jimmy Raad, and Joseph Vovchik; her daughters-in-law Ileana and Angela Ruiz; thirteen grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren.

A visitation will take place on Sunday, December 28, 2025 from 5:00pm to 11:00pm at the Caballero Rivero Funeral home in Hialeah, Florida. A funeral mass will be conducted on Monday, December 29, 2025 starting at 10:00am at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Hialeah, Florida. Interment will follow at 12:00pm at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Cemetery in Doral Florida.
