

SCHWINGER, KENNETH IRVING, 93, a pioneer of Miami Springs, Florida, passed away on December 5, 2010. He is predeceased by Julia, his wife of 65 years, and his sister, Betty. He is survived by his brother Norman (Jinx) of Chantilly, Virginia, his son Robert of Miami Springs, Florida, daughters Carol Hudson of North Reading, Massachusetts, Brenda McMahon of Scottsdale, Arizona, Susi Stadnik of Miami Springs, Florida, Karen Monahan of Miami, Floriad, Jeanne Sanchez (George) of Centreville, Virginia, fourteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Kenneth was born in Washington, D.C. After marrying Julia there on September 6, 1941, they settled in Miami Springs where he eventually designed and built their family home. In 1981 Kenneth retired from the Federal Aviation Administration after 40 years of service, primarily at the Miami Airport Control Tower. He was a founding member of Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, and had been a member of the Miami Springs Historical Society and the Springs Sociables Club. A viewing will be held Wednesday, December 8, from 5-8 p.m. at San Jose (formerly Lowe Hanks) Funeral Home located at 4850 Palm Avenue in Hialeah, and a funeral mass will be held on Thursday, December 9, at 10 a.m. at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, 4020 Curtiss Parkway, Miami Springs. Interment immediately following at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery.
