Orlando Ramos

On September 2, 1956, he married Teresa and they had twin sons in 1958, Orlando Jr., and Ruben. In 1968 the family fled Cuba to escape communism in hopes of a better life for his family. Orlando and his family arrived in the USA and reunited with family in Manhattan, NY, to pursue the American dream.

With Orlando’s incredible work ethic and superb business acumen, he began working and eventually opened a bakery in NYC. Realizing their family would be better off surrounded by family, they moved to Key West, Florida, in 1972 and planted their roots.

Orlando quickly re-opened his bakery and delivered Cuban bread and other baked goods all over the island. His proprietary blend and recipe were highly regarded and always delivered fresh. Orlando built a legacy for his entire family.

In his free time, Orlando enjoyed spending time with his family, taking pictures, praising the Lord for his many blessings, boating and fishing in the Florida Keys, vacationing in the mountains of Boone, North Carolina, and he was also an avid walker – always with his dog by his side.

Orlando E. Ramos is survived by his ex-wife Teresa Ramos, his two sons, Landy & Ruben Ramos, his daughter-in-law Rose Ramos, his niece Ana Hernandez, and his grandchildren Anthony, Christina, Jennifer, Elijah and Sara Ramos. A visitation for Orlando will be held Friday, on October 22, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Caballero Rivero Hialeah, 373 W 9 Street, Hialeah, FL 33010. Following the visitation will be a committal service starting at 11:30 AM to Caballero Rivero Woodlawn West, 14001 Northwest 178th Street, Miami, FL 33018.
